Below are definitions to six of the less common "n" English adjectives used in the puzzle above:

nacreous 1. Having a play of lustrous rainbow-like colors. Synonyms: iridescent, opalescent, opaline, pearlescent. 2. Relating to, typical of, or made of mother-of-pearl. 3. With the iridescent quality of mother-of-pearl. Synonym: pearly. [Derived from nacre, which originates from Latin, from Arabic naqqara drum.]
naff (INFORMAL) Lacking fashionable stylishness and appearing boring, tasteless, or unattractive. Synonyms: tasteless, unstylish, ridiculous, crass, vulgar. Antonym: fashionable.
nascent 1. Coming into existence. Synonyms: emergent, emerging. 2. In the process of emerging, being born, or starting to develop. 3. In the process of being created in a reaction medium, often in highly active form. Synonyms: budding, promising, embryonic, emerging, blossoming, burgeoning, growing. Antonym: moribund. nebulous 1. Lacking definition or definite content. Synonym: unfixed. 2. Not clear, distinct, or definite. 3. Lacking definite form or limits. Synonyms: cloudy, nebulose. 4. Relating to or resembling a nebula. (A nebula is a region or cloud of interstellar dust and gas appearing variously as a hazy bright or dark patch.) Synonyms: unclear, vague, imprecise, hazy, unformulated, tenuous, ill-defined. Antonym: precise.
nefarious Utterly immoral or wicked. Synonyms: wicked, villainous, evil, despicable, immoral, reprehensible, disreputable, degenerate, infamous, perverse. Antonym: reputable. [Derived from Latin nas not, plus fas divine law.]
