There are numerous islands off the coast of Massachusetts in the Atlantic. Among the most popular are Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island; both are busy summer vacation spots. Martha's Vineyard is approximately seven miles from Cape Cod, and Nantucket is approximately 30 miles from Cape Cod. Also, off the coast is the chain of small islands known as the Elizabeth Islands.
