Simple Definitions to a Selection of the Answer Words

Kilobyte Commonly referred to as KB or simply K, a kilobyte is a unit of information equal to 1024 bytes.

LINUX An open-source version of the UNIX operating system. The UNIX system was developed at AT&T Bell Laboratories in 1969.

Router A device that forwards data packets between computer networks.

Spyware A software program that is usually installed without the user's knowledge and is used to gain information about the user without their consent.

SQL Short for Structured Query Language, SQL is a computer language for the retrieval and manipulation of data.

SSL Short for Secure Socket Layer, SSL is a protocol developed by Netscape to enable encrypted information to travel across the Internet.

URL Short for Uniform Resource Locator, a URL is the address of a web page on the World Wide Web. For example, the link to the first "Digital Age" puzzle: http://www.kentuckycrosswords.com/wordsearch/digital_age1.html, is an URL.

VOIP Short for Voice Over Internet Protocol, VOIP is a technology that allows the voice to be transmitted over a data network such as the Internet.
