TV Trivia: Webcasts
Webcasts are basically broadcasts via the Internet. A number of television stations now simulcast their shows, meaning the consumer is able to watch via TV or an Internet-connected PC at the same time. Webcasts have grown to the point where there are thousands of choices from live sporting events and news broadcasts to broadcasts of your favorite shows that you might have missed otherwise. Many are available with a one or two day delay from the time they orginally aired via television. Also, a number of reruns are available and the catalog of offerings grows weekly. Several of the major television providers also offer shows that are broadcasts strictly via the Internet and not offered otherwise. And this year, (March 2010) The NCAA has also made March Mardness available on demand online. [Note: March Madness is a registered trademark of the NCAA.]
