Teams representing the University of Kentucky men's basketball program over the years have had a tendency to pick up monikers or nicknames to distinguish a particular group of players from others that have played before or after. For instance the 1921 team was called the "Wonder Team", stemming from their victory in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament over the Georgia Bulldogs, the favored team.
The NCAA championship team of 1948 was known as the "Fabulous Five", not to be confused with the "Fiddlin' Five" of 1958.
"Rupp's Runts" was the moniker that the 1966 team carried, which came about because of the smaller average height of the team as a whole.
The 1992 team, with seniors Sean Woods, Deron Feldhaus, John Pelphrey, and Richie Farmer, was called "The Unforgettables"; and the 1996 team was known as "The Untouchables".
The Untouchables were undefeated in the SEC regular season and went on to win the national championship.
The 1998 team, again national title winners, were called the "Comeback Cats".
What will the moniker for this year's team be?
