Most Fit Citizens: The Bedford community held a festival to raise money for the town's beautification project. Area businesses sponsored contests and games for all ages. One contest designed to be pure silliness to entertain the audience was the "Most Fit Citizens" competition. READ MORE
Neighborhood Club: A neighborhood after-school club for children decided to clean up their streets. A local recycling center agreed to pay the children for the trash they collected each day. The children were grouped into five teams, designated by different colors. Each team was assigned one afternoon of the school week to gather trash. READ MORE
Pool House Renovation: The Taylor family had a small renovation job done to their pool house while on vacation. They left a neighbor in charge of paying the six contractors on their behalf, one of which was a landscaper. When they returned, the neighbor had mixed up the records. They knew the total paid out was $5000, all in even dollar amounts, but were unsure of who got paid what amount. (No two contractors received the same amount.) One contractor received $400. Siblings Gas Mileage: Four siblings decide to compare the gas mileage of their automobiles. The four meet and fill their gas tanks at the same service station, agreeing to meet back at the station as soon as each individual has driven a minimum of 100 miles. READ MORE
Trade Shows: Bob's job as a software salesman requires that he travel to a minimum of six trade shows each calendar year. Looking over his calendar for next year, Bob sees that he will be attending seven shows in seven cities. READ MORE
Twelve Days of Christmas: Two brothers were Christmas shopping together for their children. (Each had one child.) They decided to buy 11 small gifts and one major gift and do a "Twelve Days of Christmas" celebration, giving each child one small gift to open each day leading up to Christmas, saving the major gift for Christmas morning. Walk for Your Heart: The Bo Bibble County Hospital sponsored a "Walk for Your Heart" contest in which various prizes were awarded to participants based on the number of days and miles they walked over a four-month period.
