Coins from the Fountain -- A Logic Problem

A construction crew has been tearing down the old fountain in the town square in order to rebuild the area. Five young boys were searching through the rubble yesterday afternoon after the crew left for the day, gathering coins that folks has tossed in the water fountain before it was torn apart. From the information given below, determine the number of coins each boy found, the denomination of each of those coins and the total monetary value each boy found.

• *The total amount the boys found all together was three dollars and fifteen cents -- made up of six quarters, nine dimes, thirteen nickels, and ten pennies.
• *Neither Mike nor Tom found any quarters.
• *None of the boys found over a dollar in total value alone, but each found more than thirty cents apiece.
• *Mike found ten cents less than Alex. Derrick found two cents less than Tom, but twenty-one cents more than Alex; and Phil found twenty-three cents more than Tom.
• *The coins that one child found were all dimes.
• *Of the five boys, Phil found the largest total value amount, (consisting of nine coins), and Mike found the least total amount in value, also made up of nine coins. One boy found eight coins -- two quarters, three nickels, and three pennies. One boy found seven coins and one boy found five.
