"A" Names on Flag Duty
Eighth grade students at the Alfred Allen Middle School were in charge of raising and lowering the American flag every week day. When the schedule for the upcoming week was posted on the bulletin board, the students that had been pre-selected by their fellow classmates to perform the honors read over the list hastily on their way to the lunchroom. They discussed the schedule while they were eating their lunch and there was some confusion.
No one could remember the schedule in its entirety. However, several students could remember a few specific details, including the fact that Ms. Andrews' class had flag duty on Friday.
Can you determine the full schedule for the week using logical reasoning to combine the individual facts remembered? Can you re-create the full schedule, including the teachers' names?
Clue #1: Amber and Austin are in charge of the flag the day after Amy and Andrew.
Clue #2: Abby and her partner are in Mr. Ashby's class.
Clue #3: One of the two students from Ms. Arnold's class is Addie. She and her partner are in charge of the flag the day before Adam and his partner.
Clue #4: Although both Abner and Ashley were chosen for the flag honors, they are not partners. One of them has Thursday, and one Friday.
Clue #5: Addie's partner is not Aaron.
Clue #6: The pair of students from Mr. Anderson's class, one of which is Amber, have flat duty on Wednesday.
Clue #7: Abby's partner is not Adam.
Clue #8: Aaron and his partner have flag duty the day before Amy and her partner.
