Location

The country of Haiti is located on the western third of the island of Hispaniola. The Dominican Republic occupies the eastern part.

Geographic Features

Haiti is mainly mountainous with some plains.

Climate

Haiti's climate is tropical and is the region is subject to hurricanes and strong tropical storms.

of color. According to the CIA World Factbook1, the colors
in Haiti's flag were taken from the French Tricolor and
symbolize the unity of the people.
