Location

Guyana is located on the northeast coast of South America, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the north, Suriname on the east, Brazil on the south and west, and Venezuela on the west.

Geographic Features

Guyana has a mainly forested interior with grasslands in the southern areas. Guyana also has artificial coastlines.

Climate

The climate of Guyana is tropical with two marked rainy seasons and cooler conditions in the highlands.

Green represents the vegetation of the country. Yellow represent the mineral wealth and future of the nation. Black represents perseverance and white represents the country's waterways.

Formation

Guyana was formed in 1966 after gaining independence from Britain.
