Guyana has a mainly forested interior with grasslands in the southern areas. Guyana also has artificial coastlines.
The climate of Guyana is tropical with two marked rainy seasons and cooler conditions in the highlands.

The flag of Guyana, pictured at left, contains the colors of red, green, yellow, black, and white. According to the CIA World Factbook1, the red represents the sacrifice of the people. Green represents the vegetation of the country. Yellow represent the mineral wealth and future of the nation. Black represents perseverance and white represents the country's waterways.
Guyana was formed in 1966 after gaining independence from Britain.
Guyana means "land of many waters" from the many rivers that crisscross the country.
