World Countries: Canada

Location

The world's second-largest country, Canada occupies the entire northern part of North America, except for the land area of Alaska. Canada is bounded by three oceans -- the Arctic on the north, the Atlantic on the east, and the Pacific on the west -- and by the United States on the south.

Geographic Features

The vastness of Canada's land area stretches across five time zones from Newfoundland to the Pacific seaboard. Geographic physical features of Canada include major mountain ranges such as the Rocky Mountains or the Western Coast mountains, to vast plains, to lowlands in the southeast.
