New York City, New York is the largest city, (based on population), in the United States and is home to twice as many people as the second largest city in the United States, Los Angeles, California. Rounding out the top ten most populated US cities are: Chicago, Illinois at number three, followed by Houston, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego, California; Dallas, Texas; and San Jose, California.

Rankings are based on 2007 statistical estimates of the U.S. Census Bureau.
