Did You Know?

According to the US Census Bureau, Gallatin County is Kentucky's smallest county, based on land area. But just barely. Robertson County ranks second, containing only one more square mile of land area than Gallatin.

Pike County is Kentucky's largest (and easternmost county). Eight counties the size of Gallatin would almost fit within the borders of Pike County.

For more information on Kentucky counties, see the County Tables (A-D, E-K, L-N, and O-W), which provides links to the historical markers found in each county, the origin of each county's name, each county's demographics, and links to each county's local newspaper where available.
