University of Kentucky Men's Basketball Trivia:

• ---UK's first basketball player to be classified as an All-American was Basil Hayden, in 1921.
• ---Adolph Rupp's first victory as coach of UK men's basketball came against Georgetown College in December of 1930.
• ---UK's first NCAA tournament win was on March 20, 1941 when the Wildcats defeated Illinois, 46-44.
• ---UK's first NCAA championship in men's basketball was in March 1948. The "Fabulous Five" under the direction of Coach Rupp, defeated Baylor 58-42 in the championship game. (The Cats won the NCAA championship again the following year, in March 1949; and its third national title in 1951.)
• ---In 1970, Dan Issel's name was recorded in the UK record books as the first player ever to score 2,000 career points in the school's history.
