Down the extensive (Atlantic Ocean) coast line of the state of South Carolina, there are a variety of beach activities available; from deep sea fishing to boarding. One popular tourist destination along the coast is the Myrtle Beach/Grand Strand area. According to the United States National Park Service (NPS), Congaree National Park (Hopkins, South Carolina) allows visitors to view the "largest remnant of old-growth floodplain forest remaining on the continent".
