Orlando Cepeda was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. The former first baseman was selected to baseball's All-Star team seven times during his playing career. He was part of the 1967 World Series champions, St. Louis Cardinals' team and posted career stats of a .297 batting average with 379 home runs and 1,365 RBI.

Cepeda made his major league debut in April 1958 as a member of the San Franciso Giants organization. He received the NL Rookie of the Year award that season after batting .312, with 25 home runs and 96 RBI. He played for the Giants until 1966, at which time he was traded to the Cardinals. After the Cardinals, he played for the Atlanta Braves, the Oakland A's, the Boston Red Sox, and the Kansas City Royals, ending his MLB career in 1974.
