Kentucky Sports Trivia

US Senator Jim Bunning, of Kentucky, who began his career in the United States Senate in 1998 is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Bunning pitched in the big leagues for 17 seasons and has a permanent spot in the record books for pitching a perfect game as a member of the Philadephia Phillies on June 21, 1964 against the New York Mets. As a baseball player, Bunning was selected to the All-Star team seven times. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Paul Hornung, is a Louisville, Kentucky native, who played professional football as a member of the Green Bay Packers from 1957 to 1966. A versatile athlete, Hornung played on both the offensive and defensive side of the field and was also a placekicker. Playing his college football at Notre Dame, Hornung won the Heisman in 1956.
