Did You Know? (23 Down) According to a
report in China Daily, the Walt
Disney Company will soon be submitting plans to the Chinese government for the
construction of a theme park in Shanghai. It will be the second large
Disney-constructed theme park in the region, after Hong Kong Disneyland. The
Walt Disney World Resort which opened near Orlando, Florida in 1971, remains
today, the largest and most visited amusement park in the world. The resort
itself actually contains four theme parks on the grounds, in addition to
numerous other tourist attractions, hotels and guest accommodations. The theme
parks are Disney's Animal Kingdom; Disney's Hollywood Studios, (formerly
Disney-MGM Studios); Epcot (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow)
Center; and the Magic Kingdom.
