Did You Know? (5 Down) Riviera is a narrow coastal strip of land on the Mediterranean Sea that extends from Hyeres, France to La Spezia, Italy in Southern Europe. In France, the Maritime Alps fall abruptly to meet the sea, creating one of the most scenic areas in all of Europe. To many Americans, the cities and communities along the French Riviera are well known resort areas. The Italian Rivera also has many beautiful areas and contains the communities of Genoa, Portofino, Rapallo, Santa Margherita, and Ventimiglia, among others.
