Allen played vaudeville in an act with her sisters. She toured as a single act
from 1911 until she teamed with George Burns in 1922. The two married in 1926.
"George and Gracie" did a radio show in the 1930s and moved to television for
The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, which aired from 1950 to
Gracie's retirement in 1958. The couple also made several short movies during
their careers.
