Did You Know? (33 Across) Alan Alda graduated from Fordham University, in New York City, as did actor Denzel Washington. Although Alda has a list of film credits, he is best known in American culture for his portrayal of Hawkeye Pierce, a main character on the long-running and award-winning television series M*A*S*H. The show remains in syndication today on various TV networks. Alan Alda's name is a popular word in crossword puzzles due to the double "a's" and structure of the words.
