Did You Know? (23 Across) The Soviet gymnast, Olga
Korbut, won three gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics, held in Munich,
West Germany. Two of the medals were in individal completitions, (floor
exercises and balance beam), and one was as a member of the Soviet team. She won
another gold medal as a member of the 1976 Soviet team. Korbut was
named the Associated Press (Woman) Athlete of the Year in 1972. After retirement
from competition, she worked as an instructor and eventually moved
permanently to the US.
